   Gloucester Cathedral

   Sudeley Castle

   A castle near Winchcombe where Katherine Parr, Henry VIII's last queen, spent her final year and died in 1548 — she is buried in the chapel, the only English queen buried on a private estate. Parliament slighted the castle after the Civil War and the Victorians rebuilt it.

   Tewkesbury Abbey

   Hailes Abbey

   The remains of a Cistercian abbey near Winchcombe in Gloucestershire. A relic said to be the blood of Christ drew pilgrims through the Middle Ages; the abbey was pulled down at the Dissolution and only the bases of the arcade survive.
