   Karadzozbey Mosque

   A Sunni mosque of 1557 endowed by an Ottoman official, and the most important Ottoman building in Herzegovina. It was shelled in the 1990s and rebuilt to the original plan using the surviving stone where possible.

   Blagaj Fortress

   A fortress complex on a karst hilltop 266 metres above the source of the Buna near the village of Blagaj. It stands at 310 metres, was called Bona in antiquity and is known locally as Stjepan Grad.

   Partisan cemetery in Mostar

   A cemetery laid out in 1965 for the Yugoslav Partisans of Mostar killed in the Second World War. It stands on the Bijeli Brijeg hill and is celebrated for a design in which architecture and landscape are worked as one.

   Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Mostar

   The Orthodox cathedral of Mostar, seat of the Herzegovina diocese from 1873 and once the largest Orthodox church in the region. It was destroyed in 1992 and has been under reconstruction since 2011.

   Blagaj tekke

   A Sufi lodge at the foot of the cliff where the Buna springs, in Blagaj south-east of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Built in Ottoman Mediterranean style around 1520, it is protected for the way its architecture sits within the landscape.

   A Franciscan church along the Radobolja at the foot of Hum hill. The friary was shelled and burned in 1992 and rebuilt after the war; its bell tower, over 100 metres tall, is now the highest structure in Mostar.
