   Slovak Paradise National Park

   One of Slovakia's nine national parks, a limestone plateau cut by gorges. Most routes through it are one-way and climb ladders, chains and timber walkways bolted into waterfalls, which makes it unlike ordinary hill walking and considerably more fun.

   Church of the Holy Trinity

   A wooden Lutheran church at Kežmarok, built under rules of 1681 that allowed Protestants two churches per county on condition they used the cheapest materials — so it was raised without a single iron nail. It is World Heritage and seats fifteen hundred.

   Belianska Cave
