   St. John's Cathedral

   The oldest Anglican church in Central America, built in Belize City between 1812 and 1820 from brick carried out as ships' ballast. Four kings of the Mosquito Coast were crowned here in the nineteenth century.

   Museum of Belize

   The national museum of Belize, opened in 2002 in the colonial prison of 1857, whose cells now hold Maya jade, ceramics and the record of the country's history. One cell has been left furnished as it was.

   Baron Bliss Light

   A lighthouse at Belize City. It was built in 1885 on the site of a Spanish fort largely destroyed in the battle of St George's Caye in September 1798, and is painted white and red.
