   Universal Studios Florida

   The first of Universal's Orlando parks, opened on 7 June 1990 and built to work as both a theme park and a functioning studio lot. Its rides draw on film and television, and three more parks have grown up around it since.

   SeaWorld Orlando

   A marine park just outside Orlando that drew about 4.45 million visitors in 2022, tenth busiest in the United States. Orca and dolphin shows share the grounds with roller coasters, and it is run alongside the neighbouring Discovery Cove and Aquatica.

   Universal's Islands of Adventure

   A theme park opened in 1999, built around five themed islands, whose Wizarding World of Harry Potter section changed the economics of Orlando when it opened in 2010. Its rides are aimed at adults more than Disney's are.

   Universal Epic Universe

   The fourth park at Universal Orlando, opened on 22 May 2025 on a 750-acre site a few miles south of the older parks. Five lands ring a central garden: Celestial Park, Dark Universe, the Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World and a Harry Potter Ministry of Magic.

   Holy Land Experience

   A Christian theme park in Orlando that reconstructed first-century Jerusalem, with a passion play staged several times daily. It ran from 2001 until 2021, when the property was sold to a hospital, and its buildings have since been demolished.

   Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

   A motion-based dark ride inside a reconstruction of Hogwarts castle, opened in 2010, in which a robotic arm swings the seats through projected scenes. Its queue winds through the castle's interiors and is regarded as part of the attraction.

   Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

   A launched steel coaster opened in 2019 in the Hogsmeade area, which accelerates seven times and includes a vertical drop track — riders sit either on a motorbike or in a sidecar. It replaced an older coaster on the same land.

   Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

   An indoor steel coaster and dark ride opened in 2014, built into a reconstruction of the Gringotts banking hall, which combines a track with motion bases and projection. The queue through the marble hall with animatronic goblins is deliberately slow.

   Dragon Challenge

   A pair of intertwined inverted coasters that ran from 1999 to 2017, originally as duelling trains passing within feet of each other. The duelling was stopped after riders were injured by objects flying from the other train, and the ride was removed for Hagrid's coaster.

    The Incredible Hulk

    A launched coaster of 1999 that fires its train up a tunnel and into a zero-gravity roll thirty metres up. Its accelerating whoosh is audible across the park and it was rebuilt with new track in 2016.

   VelociCoaster

   A launched coaster opened in 2021 in the Jurassic World area, reaching a hundred and ten kilometres an hour and including an eighty-degree drop over the lagoon. Enthusiasts rate it among the best steel coasters in the world.

   Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

   A steel coaster at Universal Studios Florida, opened in 2009, on which riders chose a song to play through speakers in their seats during the ride. It stood fifty-one metres high and closed in 2024 for replacement.

   Jaws

   A boat ride based on the shark film, in which an animatronic great white attacked the vessel repeatedly. The Orlando version ran from 1990 to 2012 and was removed for the Harry Potter expansion; the Japanese version still operates.

   Revenge of the Mummy

   An indoor coaster of 2004 that begins as a dark ride through Egyptian sets and then launches backwards into darkness. It replaced the Kongfrontation ride and its animatronic mummies are among the best in any park.

   The Simpsons Ride

   A motion simulator ride of 2008 in which a domed screen and a moving cabin take a family through a cartoon theme park. It replaced Back to the Future: The Ride and reuses its building and motion bases.

   Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

   A simulator ride of 2012 in which visitors are turned into minions and put through a training course, on motion platforms in front of a 3D screen. It is aimed squarely at small children and is usually the busiest queue in the park.

   The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

   A dark ride of 1999 that combined 3D projection, a moving vehicle and a simulated forty-storey drop, and which set the technical standard other parks then copied. It was rebuilt with new film and sharper projection in 2012.

   E.T. Adventure

   A suspended dark ride of 1990 in which bicycles fly over a model city and then over an alien planet, and the only ride left anywhere based on the 1982 film. Spielberg worked on it, and the attendant asks your name so the alien can thank you personally.

   Universal's Volcano Bay

   A water park opened in 2017 built around an artificial volcano, using wristbands that hold your place in the queue so nobody stands in line. It replaced the older park on International Drive.

    Wet 'n Wild Orlando

    A water park on International Drive founded in 1977 by the man who also created SeaWorld, and effectively the first modern water park in the world. It closed on the last day of 2016 when its operator opened Volcano Bay instead.
