Okinoerabu is a raised coral island between Kagoshima and Okinawa, riddled with limestone caves — around three hundred of them mapped, and more still being found.

Shōryūdō runs some three and a half kilometres, of which six hundred metres are lit and walkable, and caving trips go into the wilder passages by headlamp. Above ground it is flower farms, cliffs and a pace that suits them.
