Punta Cana is the all-inclusive capital of the Caribbean — thirty kilometres of palm-backed sand on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, and resorts along nearly all of it.

Catamarans run to Saona for the day, there are cenotes inland at Hoyo Azul, and the golf courses are among the better ones in the region. It is designed so that nothing needs organising in advance.

    A resort district on the eastern tip of the island, incorporated in 2006 and counting 138,919 residents at the 2022 census. Its airport, three kilometres inland, takes about two-thirds of all flights into the Dominican Republic.

    A Catholic cathedral and minor basilica at Salvaleón de Higüey in the Dominican Republic. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Altagracia, patron of the country, and is the seat of the diocese of Higüey.

    A small domestic airfield in the east of La Altagracia province in the Dominican Republic. It lies at ninety-two metres with a single runway of 850 metres and operates in daylight only.
