   Ybor City

   A district northeast of downtown Tampa founded in 1885 by a Spanish cigar manufacturer and worked by Cuban, Spanish and Italian immigrants, who built their own mutual aid clubs and hospitals. The brick streets now hold bars and cafés.

   Falcon's Fury

   A drop tower of 2014 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, 102 metres high and the tallest free-standing drop tower in North America. Seats tilt riders face-down before the fall, which reaches about 96 kilometres an hour.

   Tampa Museum of Art

   An art museum in downtown Tampa, founded in the 1920s and moved in 2010 into a new building on the Hillsborough River. It shows modern and contemporary art alongside Greek, Roman and Etruscan antiquities — an unusual pairing built on an early bequest.

   Scorpion

   A steel looping coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay designed by Anton Schwarzkopf, opened on 16 May 1980 as the park's second coaster. Its single 360-degree loop and sixty-degree drop were considered severe for the period.

   Kumba

   A Bolliger and Mabillard coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, opened in 1993 with the tallest vertical loop in the world at thirty-two metres. Its seven inversions include an interlocking corkscrew over the walkway.

   Montu

   An inverted roller coaster that opened on 16 May 1996 as the tallest and fastest of its kind in the world. Built by Bolliger & Mabillard, it stands 150 feet high and reaches 60 mph through seven inversions in an Egyptian-themed setting.

   Iron Gwazi

   A hybrid coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, rebuilt in 2022 from the wooden Gwazi with a steel track on the old timber structure. Its first drop of ninety-one degrees was the steepest on any hybrid coaster when it opened.

   A launched coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, opened in 2011, built by Intamin with three linear-motor launches rather than a lift hill. It runs 1,300 metres through the Serengeti enclosure, the longest track in the park.

   Henry B. Plant Museum

   A museum in the south wing of Plant Hall on the University of Tampa campus, in the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel — a Moorish Revival building with silver minarets that the railway magnate Henry Plant filled with European furniture. The rooms are kept as he furnished them.

   An aquarium in downtown Tampa opened in 1995, whose displays follow a Florida wetland from spring to sea, ending in a coral reef tank. It runs shark diving and coral restoration programmes for the Florida reef tract.

   Cobra's Curse

   A spinning coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, opened in 2016, the first in the world to combine a vertical lift, a drop and cars that unlock to spin freely for the final section. It runs through a snake-themed archaeological dig.

   Hindu Temple of Florida,Tampa

   A Hindu temple and cultural centre in Tampa, opened in the 1980s by families from India who had settled around the bay. Shrines to Venkateswara, Shiva and Ganesha stand under one roof, and festivals fill the hall through the year.

   The residential region on the peninsula south of downtown Tampa, taking in Beach Park, Davis Islands and Bayshore Beautiful. Bayshore Boulevard runs along the bay with what is claimed to be the longest continuous sidewalk in the world at about seven kilometres.

   Sacred Heart Catholic Church

   A Romanesque Revival Catholic church of 1905 at 509 North Florida Avenue, one of the oldest churches in Tampa, built with a large Cuban and Italian immigrant congregation. Its seventy stained glass windows were made in Munich.

   One of the oldest districts in Tampa, an independent city from 1895 until 1925, developed from 1892 around Cuban cigar factories. Brick factory buildings and the small wooden casitas built for their workers survive.

    Ybor City Museum State Park

    A state park museum in the old Ferlita Bakery on 9th Avenue, whose brick ovens once turned out the Cuban bread of the quarter. Displays trace the cigar industry and its Latin community from the 1880s to the 1930s, and rangers show the restored casitas where the workers lived.
