   Ålesund Church

   The parish church of Ålesund, built in 1909 after the fire of 1904 destroyed the town, in Art Nouveau-influenced stone with a large chancel fresco. It stands on the hill above the rebuilt centre.

   Jugendstilsenteret

   An Art Nouveau centre opened in 2003 in the 1907 Swan Pharmacy, one of the best-preserved interiors from the rebuilding. The whole town was reconstructed in Jugendstil after the fire of January 1904 left ten thousand people homeless in midwinter.

   Atlantic Sea-Park

   An aquarium built into the coastal rock west of Ålesund, opened in 1998, using unfiltered seawater pumped straight from the sea. Its 4-million-litre North Atlantic tank is among the largest saltwater aquarium tanks in Europe and divers feed the fish daily.
