   Church of the Intercession in Harbin

   An Eastern Orthodox church on Dongdazhi Street in Harbin, in what is known as the street of churches. It stands northeast of Hongbo Square, on the same street as the Protestant Nangang church and the Catholic cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

   Ji Le Temple

   Jile Temple, the Temple of Bliss, is the largest Buddhist temple in Harbin, and its halls came through the Cultural Revolution intact. It pairs naturally with a run out to Sun Island and the Ice and Snow World.

   St. Nicholas Cathedral, Harbin

   A timber Orthodox cathedral that stood at the highest point of the city, in the middle of Cathedral Square in the Nangang district of Harbin. It was the emblematic building of the Russians who lived in the city, and was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution.

   A monument that stood from 1941 to 1945 on Cathedral Square in Harbin, opposite St Nicholas Cathedral. It honoured the White Russian émigrés who had died fighting the Comintern.

   Soviet Red Army Martyrs Monument

   A monument of national grade in Nangang in Harbin. It commemorates the Soviet soldiers who died in the advance of 1945 that ended the Japanese occupation of Manchuria at the close of the Second World War.

   Church of the Annunciation, Harbin

   A Russian Orthodox church begun in 1900 in the Pristan quarter and rebuilt twice as the Russian community in Harbin grew. Its Byzantine-revival domes stood on what is now Youyi Road until the building was pulled down in 1970.

    St. Alexius Church, Harbin

    A brick and timber church of 1931 in Nangang, built as the Orthodox church of St Alexius for Harbin's Russian community. Closed during the Cultural Revolution, it passed to the Catholic church in 1980 and serves now as the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
