   Jinan Great Southern Mosque

   A mosque in Lixia district founded in the Yuan period and rebuilt in the Ming, and the largest in Shandong. The prayer hall stands under a Chinese timber roof on a raised terrace, with a minaret built as a pavilion — a wholly Chinese reading of the form.

   Sacred Heart Cathedral

   The cathedral of the archdiocese of Jinan in Shandong, commonly called the Hongjialou church. It is the largest church in the region and an emblem of the city, built between 1901 and 1905 and enlarged in 1906.

   Jinan Confucian Temple

   A Confucian temple in the Lixia district of Jinan in Shandong, beside the old street south of Daming Lake. It was founded in the Xining era of the Northern Song, rebuilt in the second year of Hongwu in 1369, and enlarged or repaired more than thirty times.
