   Sheikh Zayed Mosque

   Finished in 2007 and holding over forty thousand worshippers under eighty-two white domes. It has the largest hand-knotted carpet in the world at some five and a half thousand square metres, made by twelve hundred Iranian weavers, and Sheikh Zayed himself is buried at one corner. Entry is free with covered dress.

   Louvre Abu Dhabi

   The museum that opened on Saadiyat Island in November 2017 under a thirty-year agreement to use the Louvre's name. Jean Nouvel's dome, a hundred and eighty metres across, is layered so that light falls through it like rain.

   A mosque in the Al Mushrif district built in 1989 and renamed in 2017, by order of the crown prince, after Mary the mother of Jesus — a gesture aimed at the emirate's large Christian workforce.

   St. Francis Church, Abu Dhabi

   A Catholic church on Saadiyat Island, one of the three buildings of the Abrahamic Family House, which sets a church, a mosque and a synagogue of equal scale side by side. Designed by David Adjaye and opened on 16 February 2023, it welcomes all denominations.
