Osh has been a market town for three thousand years, and Sulaiman-Too, the sacred mountain in the middle of it, was Kyrgyzstan's first cultural World Heritage site — pilgrims still climb it.

Jayma Bazaar along the river is one of the largest in Central Asia. This is also the southern end of the Pamir Highway, where drivers set out for or arrive from Tajikistan.

    Sulaiman-Too

    A limestone crag rising straight out of the middle of Osh, and the first cultural site in Kyrgyzstan to be listed as World Heritage, in 2009. Caves, petroglyphs and shrines are strung along the paths up it, and women still climb to a particular rock to pray for children.

    Suyumbayev Stadion

    A stadium in Osh holding about twelve thousand, home to Alay Osh and used for the southern half of the Kyrgyz league. It sits below Sulaiman-Too, which is visible from the terraces.

    Papan Reservoir

    A reservoir on the Ak-Buura river south of Osh, built for irrigation and for the city's drinking water. The valley above it is the road towards the Alay range and the Pamir highway.

    Ajidaar-Unkyur

    A karst cave near the Dangi canyon in the Osh region, running more than a hundred metres into a limestone ridge. It holds the best-known bat roost in Kyrgyzstan.
