   Theatre of Lindos

   An ancient Greek theatre at Lindos on Rhodes. Built around 300 BC on the south-west slope below the acropolis, it had a semicircular auditorium, a round orchestra and a stage building.

   Temple of Athena Lindia

   A temple to Athena on the acropolis of Lindos, rebuilt in stone about 300 BC after fire destroyed the archaic building. Its columns stand on the rock above the sea, reached by a stair through the Hellenistic stoa and the knights' castle.

   Lindus

   One of the three cities that joined to found Rhodes in 408 BC, on the east coast where the modern village stands. Its acropolis carried the temple of Athena Lindia, and its harbour made it the island's chief port before Rhodes town was built.

   Dormition of the Virgin (Asklipieio)

   A church in the village of Asklipieio on Rhodes, Greece. Built in the later 14th century and enlarged in the mid-19th, it keeps wall paintings from the 15th and 17th centuries and a cycle of the Apocalypse from 1676-77, the only one of its kind in the Dodecanese.
