   Founded in 1882 as the county museum and housed in the Magna Curia palace, built in 1621 under Gabor Bethlen when Deva briefly served as the Transylvanian capital. Its archaeology, drawn from the Dacian fortresses of the Orastie mountains, is among the most important in Transylvania.
